Students: It's Time to Plan and Apply for Scholars' Day 2022
Scholars' Day at MCC has a long tradition of
showcasing our student researchers' academic work. This event celebrates
academic excellence while promoting and encouraging scholarship throughout the
college. It features a conference of undergraduate presentations and a keynote
address. Student presentations are judged by panels of faculty, staff, and
administrators, and scholarships are awarded for first, second, and third place
in a variety of subjects. Scholars' Day 2022 will be held on Tuesday, May
10 on the Brighton Campus. A keynote presentation by Soledad O'Brien will follow on
Wednesday, May 11.
Scholars' Day application forms are available now. The
application deadline is March 7, 2022. This date might seem distant,
but now is the perfect time to start thinking about a research project you
want to complete in the spring. Maybe you're working on an assignment or class
project now that would be a perfect Scholars' Day topic!
Students, you will need a faculty sponsor who will work with you to provide
guidance, so if you are thinking of applying, talk to your professors about
sponsorship or let us know if you need help finding a sponsor.
We hope to see everyone at Scholars' Day in May!
