SUNY Approves MCC's Winter/Spring 2021 Plan

Dear Tribunes,

Welcome to 2021 at MCC! Our College has a lot to look forward to this spring. Thank you for studying with us!

I am pleased to report that SUNY approved our Winter/Spring Semester 2021 Plan over the holiday break, prior to the start of Intersession.

Thanks to Sean Baker and Dawn Voglewede from our Computing and Information Technology Department, a new Spring 2021 Information web page has been added to the MCC website to and provide centralized information and the safest teaching and learning environment possible. The web page includes links to the plan as well as the What Students Should Know document about returning to campus during the pandemic as required by SUNY. Please become familiar with this web page and continue to send your questions to covid19response@monroecc.edu.

ALL Students Are Required to Complete a Daily COVID-19 Self-Assessment Beginning Monday, January 11, 2021, Even If You Learn Online and/or Remotely.
In order for us to stay mindful of COVID-19 symptoms amid a growing number of positive cases across Monroe County and the Finger Lakes Region, and in compliance with our SUNY-approved plan, MCC now requires that you submit a COVID-19 Self-Assessment each weekday (Monday through Friday)—regardless if you plan to come to campus or not. By adding this step to your daily routine, you will already comply with the screening requirement should an unanticipated need to come to the Applied Technologies Center, Brighton Campus and/or Downtown Campus arise. Completing the assessment takes less than a minute and will help reduce the spread of COVID-19. This requirement begins on Monday, January 11, 2021.

With vaccinations underway across our community, we are hopefully witnessing the beginning of the end of the coronavirus pandemic. Join us in taking every measure possible to protect your health and safety. This is our overriding priority for a successful intersession and spring semester.

Thank you for your cooperation and for staying safe.
