Open Forums on MCC's Presidential Search Are Canceled
The President
ial Search Advisory Committee scheduled a
series of open forums and focus groups to be held over the next several
weeks. These events have been canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Please know that the work of the Advisory Committee continues even in these
challenging times:
- An online survey has been developed and the link will be released next
week. Please keep an eye out for an upcoming Trib article containing a link to
the survey.
- MCC Board of Trustees Chairperson Barbara Lovenheim has graciously offered
to host virtual drop in hours via Zoom. In lieu of in person open forums or
focus groups, Dr. Lovenheim is making herself available at specified
dates/times to members of our community who wish to connect virtually to share
their input. Dates and times for these drop-in hours will be shared in the Trib
once they have been established.
In addition:
- At its March 9, 2020 meeting, the MCC Board of Trustees appointed The Pauly Group, Inc. to serve as
presidential search consultant. The Pauly Group, Inc. was one of seven firms
that responded to the College's request for proposals earlier this year.
The Advisory Committee is tasked with creating the structure for the
College's Presidential Search Committee, which will begin its work at the
beginning of the fall semester. Central to that structure is input from our
College community. The COVID-19 outbreak has required us to adjust our planned
open forums and focus groups, and we will continue to adjust as needed because
the safety and health of our MCC community is our highest priority. With that
in mind, we will continue to take steps to move the College's presidential
search process forward because we, like all of you, are eager to select a
president who will lead our College through the next decade.
