How do I Access a Remote Course in Zoom?
Students, are you taking a remote course this semester? MCC
uses Zoom as our webconferencing tool. If your are taking a remote
course, you'll need to join your course at the designated days and times
according to your course schedule. If you are having trouble reading your
schedule, please watch this short video on How to Read Your MCC Course
Schedule.
Where do I look for my Zoom Class Link?
- Typically, your professor will communicate with you about how to
access your course via Zoom through email. Make sure to check your MCC
email.
- Your professor may have also created a link in your Brightspace
course to your Zoom class. It may be labeled "Zoom Class Meetings" or
something similar and may be listed in the course's "Content"
area.
- You can also check your Course Information Sheet that may be posted
in Brightspace.
Do I need to use MCC's zoom account to access my course?
- Depending on how your professor set up your course zoom link, you
may be required to login with your MCC zoom account. Sometimes you may not and
you will enter the zoom classroom without having to log in.
- Give your self a few extra minutes on the first day to figure out
where you need to be. Your professor will review their expectations on the
first day of class.
- All students have access to our free MCC zoom account. You can
access your own zoom account by going to monroecommunity.zoom.us and using your MCC email and
password.
What's the best way to access Zoom?
- You can access Zoom on a computer (with a webcam) or mobile device.
If you are using Zoom a mobile device, we recommend that you download the free
Zoom app. If you are accessing Zoom on your computer, you can access Zoom
through your computer's web browser or you can download the Zoom client for
easy access.
