Register now for MCC’s Humanitarian Mapping Event Tue, April 5
from 4-5:30 pm
Everyone is welcome to attend MCC's humanitarian mapping event Tuesday,
April 5 from 4-5:30 pm! The event will be held in person (Brighton campus,
11-111) and via Zoom. The event is led by MCC's Mapping Club, a YouthMappers Chapter, and is designed
for those with no prior experience! This event is being co-sponsored by the
Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Project (HGHRP) as well as
Global Education and International Services (GEIS).
Youth Mappers "capitalizes on web-based open geospatial
technologies, and a network of universities around the globe. The mission is to
cultivate a generation of young leaders to create resilient communities and to
define their world by mapping it." The events usually focus on crisis
mapping or preventative mapping.

All attendees will need to sign up and create a free Humanitarian OpenStreetMap
account at least 2 hours before the event. Directions will be provided
after registering. Mapping in OpenStreetMap is a team effort, continually
growing due to a community of hundreds of thousands of dedicated global
contributors.
