Count on coming to school from
Monday through Friday and be aware that
the Department's attendance policy requires you to attend all classes.
In addition to class attendance, you should also plan to spend 15 to 25
hours per week outside of class studying, completing homework and writing
papers and projects.
In addition to everything already mentioned, all Human
Services students are required to take a fieldwork course in each of
their four semesters. This course will require you to have 9 hours available
each week, during the day, from Monday to Friday, to work in a community
agency or school. There are very few fieldwork sites available in the
evening and on weekends, so if your weekday hours are limited, be sure
to contact the department as soon as possible to see if we will be able
to accommodate you.
This probably all sounds like a lot of work; that's because college is
a major commitment. Be assured that the faculty and staff of the Human
Services department will do all we can to help you have a successful and
enjoyable experience at Monroe Community College.
