NUR-214 — Nursing Care of Adult/Child II

NUR 214 focuses on Basic Needs of adult and child patients using the Nursing Process to provide quality, safe patient centered care for diverse populations through teamwork and collaboration. Students use knowledge and science to manage the complex issues of patients with both acute and chronic conditions in a variety of healthcare environments. One class hour, four conference hours, nine clinical hours. The core competencies of Associate Degree Nursing practice are integrated into clinical nursing practice.

Prerequisites

SOC 101, BIO 202 with a minimum grade of C, NUR 210, 211, 212 with a minimum grade of C; Corequisites: 3 credits Humanities electives, 1 credit Physical/Health Education, unless previously completed. 8 Credits

Project Description

NUR 214 focuses on providing quality, safe, patient centered for diverse adult and pediatric populations. Teamwork and collaboration are imbedded in all interactions. Students manage complex issues of patients with both acute and chronic conditions. Students provide individualized, attentive, compassionate, and comprehensive care with a minimal student nurse to patient ratio, contributing positively to patient satisfaction and outcomes.
