Find out more about MCC’s work-study programs.

Students with financial need can earn money to help pay educational expenses through the Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program. When possible, the program encourages jobs related to your course of study. Some examples include: student caregiver at the Richard M. Guon Child Care Center, lab assistant for the chemistry & geosciences department and news media data manager for Marketing and Community Relations.

MCC federal school code: 002872

MCC TAP school code: 2180

Here's how it works:

  • Your FWS hourly pay will be at least the current federal minimum wage, but may be higher.
  • You’ll receive your wages on an hourly basis and be paid biweekly.
  • The amount you earn cannot exceed your total FWS award.
  • When assigning work hours, your employer will consider your class schedule and your academic progress.

Once you’ve accepted your award, it will be up to you to review current openings, apply for positions that you’re interested in and interview with the associated offices or departments.
