Transfer Pathway Guides

Students interested in this Competitive Transfer Pathway must complete an MCC program change request and meet specific entrance requirements to be formally accepted.

For those accepted (as indicated by their MCC major): Continuous, full-time enrollment (12 or more credit hours each semester) is required. Enrollment in this Competitive Transfer Pathway, along with closely following the guide, significantly increases the likelihood of acceptance by the 4-year institution. Student contact information will be shared with the 4-year institution. Students will complete the Intent to Enroll Form the semester before you intend to transfer.

If not accepted into the MCC Competitive Transfer Pathway: Students can still follow this advising guide and apply to the transfer university, using the Common Application.

All students are encouraged to meet with transfer staff at MCC and at the transfer institution.

Important:

• Use the UR MCC Master List to choose courses that will transfer to UR. Click on hyperlinks for SUNY General Education course options and cross-reference classes.
• College coursework taught in high school will NOT be granted transfer credit at UR. See UR transfer credit policies.
• This major requires taking one course at UR while at MCC. This is called Cross Registration. There is no additional tuition cost for this. Students must take at least 12 credits during the semester at MCC to qualify for this, and the Cross Registration form must be completed and approved.
• The general UR transfer credit policy requires a C or better for credit to be awarded. ENG 200 must be a B or better to fulfill Rochester's writing requirement. All chemistry courses must be completed with a grade of B or higher for UR.
• AP, IB, CLEP, & transfer courses: Credits showing as accepted by MCC may not be transferable. See AP Policies and IB Policies. Contact UR with questions.
