Please note that some courses required in a Transfer Pathway may not be required for the MCC program. This could have financial aid implications. Students should meet with their advisor or with a transfer representative to discuss an academic plan and recommended sequence of courses.
This guide is for students
wishing to concentrate in Drawing, Painting, Photography, Ceramics, or
Sculpture. Those wanting to major in Graphic Design at SUNY Brockport should
be in the AAS
Graphic Design
program at MCC instead.
This 2+2 Transfer Pathway Advising Guide directly follows the MCC Degree
Works worksheet for Fine Arts; no modifications or substitutions are needed.
Note that this advising guide is for the Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor
of Science (BS) degree, not the BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts).

As of Fall 2023, any student who transfers to SUNY Brockport with an earned
Associate’s degree (AS, AAS, or AA) or earned Bachelor’s degree will
have ALL general education requirements completed (this includes SUNY and
Brockport local requirements). Brockport accepts up to 75 credits from
community colleges.
In addition to the
courses above, students must meet the following requirements:
1. A minimum grade of "C" must be attained in all courses
in the major.
2. No more than 66 credits in studio art courses can be used to satisfy
the 120 credit requirement for the BA or BS degree.
3. A minimum of 15 credits in the major must be taken at Brockport.

AP, IB, CLEP, transfer courses, MCC College Now or other Dual Enrollment
credits: Credits showing as accepted by MCC may not be transferable. See

Brockport Course Equivalencies
Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is advised for acceptance to SUNY Brockport.
GPA of 2.0 is required for MCC graduation.
The Fine Arts A.S. (FA01) will be the degree student is audited against
and awarded from MCC.
