The Liberal
Arts and Sciences degree (LA04) provides flexibility to tailor coursework
for a smooth transfer. The goal is to obtain your A.S. degree while taking
SUNY General Education and foundation courses for your major at the 4-year
degree institution. SUNY Oswego waives their local general education course
requirements for students transferring with an A.A. or A.S. degree who
have met the SUNY General Education requirement at MCC.
Directions:
1. Choose one SUNY Oswego major from the list below.
2. Use
your MCC Degree Works worksheet and the major courses listed below to choose
courses to take at MCC. Take as many of the courses outlined for your specific
major as you are able (as well as the SUNY Gen Ed courses needed for the
MCC degree). Depending on your intended major, you may be able to take
additional electives of your choice to obtain the minimum needed 60 credits
to graduate. Make sure to consult with an MCC advisor prior to course registration.
Prospective students, see the MCC
Liberal Arts and Sciences - General Studies A.S.
degree outline.
3. In addition to the courses listed, take one of the following: CIS; MTH
160, 175 or higher; PHL 102.
4. Carefully read the notes below; contact your MCC advisor or Oswego if
you have questions.
5. Apply to SUNY Oswego via the online
SUNY application
the semester before you complete your degree at MCC. It
will be free to apply if you are graduating from MCC.
If you are interested in a major that is not listed on any 2+2 guide, check
with an Oswego admissions representative for suggested courses to take
at MCC. View all
