Note that this guide is
for a Physical Education or Kinesiology major at SUNY Brockport, (not for
the Exercise Science BS degree). It directly follows the MCC Degree Works
Worksheet for Physical Education & Exercise Science Studies A.S. (PE01).
As of Fall 2023, any student who transfers to SUNY Brockport with an earned
Associate’s degree (AS, AAS, or AA) or earned Bachelor’s degree will
have ALL general education requirements completed (this includes SUNY and
Brockport local requirements). Brockport accepts up to 75 credits from
community colleges.

Teacher Education Majors: CPR Certification is required for all physical
education teacher education (PETE) students. Recommend that students take
PSY 101 if able.
# BIO 134 & BIO 135 or BIO 144 & BIO 145 will transfer to meet
program course requirements for both the Kinesiology and PETE majors at
Brockport. See Department Chair for substitutions if taking BIO 144 &
BIO 145. BIO 134 & 135 = BIO 221 at Brockport.
Within the Physical Education program, there are two opportunities to achieve
professional fitness certification. Successful completion of PPE 100 will
allow students to be eligible to take the Physical Fitness Specialist certification
exam by the Cooper Institute. After successful completion of the entire
Physical Education program, students are eligible to take the American
College of Sports Medicine Health/Fitness Instructor certification exam.
Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is advised for acceptance to SUNY Brockport.
GPA of 2.0 is required for MCC graduation.
The Physical Education & Exercise Science A.S. PE01 will be the degree
student is audited against and awarded from MCC. Documentation source:
