Department Mission
The Engineering Science and Physics Department provides our students with the engineering educational background and practical skills to transfer with full junior status and be successful at a four-year school.
Incoming engineering students will work closely with a faculty member to select the courses that will maximize the number of transferable credits and prepare student to compete at the top of the class at your transfer school.
MCC's Engineering Science Program is broad based so that students are able to explore a variety of different disciplines before choosing a specialty. This approach also serves students well by strengthening their ability to solve interdisciplinary engineering problems
Incoming engineering students will experience the thrill of designing and building working prototypes in your very first semester. These projects are not only fun, they teach the leadership, teamwork, and design-build skills that successful engineers must possess.
The Engineering Science and Physics Programs are designed to be flexible so that courses can be selected to optimize the student's preparation for transfer into a variety of engineering/physics majors including:
- Aeronautical Engineering
- Biomedical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Physics
