Who is Eligible for SUNY Reconnect?

Who is Eligible for SUNY Reconnect?

To be eligible for SUNY Reconnect, you must meet the following requirements.

  • New York resident
  • 25-55 years old*
  • No college degree
  • Attend full-time or part-time
  • Enroll in a participating program
  • Take a minimum of 6 credits per semester
  • Complete your degree within 10 semesters 

*You must be at least 25 years old at the time of enrollment (start of classes, including late-start sessions) and no older than 55 years old on January 1 of the year in which you enroll.

    1. Select an eligible degree program from the list above.
    2. Submit required documentation like transcripts and your certificate of residence.
  2. Apply for federal financial aid: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Our financial aid specialists are ready to help!
  3. Apply for state financial aid: Submit the New York State Tuition Assistance Program application.
  4. The cost of your tuition, fees, supplies, and books beyond what you receive from aid will be covered by SUNY Reconnect to bring your cost down to zero!
