Are You Prepared for an Emergency ?
During an emergency situation, clear and direct information as to how you
should respond is crucial to your personal safety and security. Public Safety
would like to recommend these three methods of emergency communication of which
you can send and receive information during an emergency situation regardless
of your campus location.
MCC Alert: MCC Alert is an emergency message system that allows the college
community to receive critical information and directives from Public Safety via
text, e-mail, and telephone call. In an emergency situation, MCC Alerts are
broadcast to the college community with important information and instructions
designed specifically to enhance your personal safety and security. For more
information and to sign up for MCC Alert please visit https://www.monroecc.

MCC Guardian: MCC Guardian is a mobile safety app available for download to
your smart phone from the Apple I-Store or the Google Play Store that will
allow you to contact MCC Public Safety for emergency and non-emergency purposes
through the single push of a button. MCC Guardian also offers additional
features such as the Mobile Safety Timer, Public Safety Tip Line, and the
ability to contact 911 in the event of an emergency while off-campus. To learn
more about MCC Guardian visit https://www.monroecc.edu/depts/pstd/

FEMA Mobile Safety App: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
offers for download through the Apple I-Store and the Google Play Store the
FEMA Mobile Safety App. The FEMA app. is not a
replacement for MCC Alert and MCC Guardian but it can be used as a supplement
to provide you with critical weather related information, location of shelter
facilities, emergency preparedness tips, and the ability to call 911 regardless
of your location in the United States and Puerto Rico. For more information on
the FEMA Mobile Safety App. please visit https://www.fema.gov/mobile-app
