HED 207 - Emotional Wellness
This course is an examination of emotional, spiritual, social and mental wellness. The course will emphasize primary and secondary prevention strategies as they relate to the dimension(s) of health previously mentioned. Topics include Self-Esteem, Self- Efficacy, Empowerment, Happiness, Anger and Anger Management, Relationships, Life Goals, and Self-Actualization. Three class hours.
Course Learning Outcomes
1. Define, describe and discuss emotional, spiritual, mental and social well-being and how these dimensions of health interact to influence each other.
2. Assess personal emotional, spiritual, mental, and social levels of wellness.
3. Describe, discuss and develop strategies and techniques to maintain and enhance their personal emotional, spiritual, mental and social wellness.
4. Demonstrate knowledge gained and skills learned to enhance emotional, spiritual, mental and social well-being through course assignments (projects, papers, presentations and/or exams).
