Students transferring without an AA or AS degree will need to take additional
general education courses at Geneseo.

* Concentration Electives: New York State initial certification for
teaching an academic subject matter area in grades 7-12 must be earned
by completing a Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in a liberal arts discipline.
Students can select: Biology or Chemistry or English or Geological Sciences
or History or Mathematics, or Physics or World Languages. See Major
Listing Sheet for required MCC courses.
SUNY Geneseo requires a grade of 'C' or higher for all courses in your
chosen major.
AP, IB, CLEP, transfer courses, MCC College Now or other Dual Enrollment
credits: Credits showing as accepted at MCC may not be transferable.

"Seamless Transfer" is available to MCC students with associate
degrees in Associate of Arts or Associate of Science programs prior to
starting at Geneseo. Students who have achieved an Associates of Applied
Science do not qualify. Students without an AA or AS associate degree must
complete SUNY Geneseo local general education requirements in order to
graduate from Geneseo, including Basic Communication (i.e. “writing seminar”),
a Quantitative/Reasoning course and laboratory science.
All SUNY general education courses will transfer to Geneseo if the student
earns a grade of C- or better. Students receiving grades of D in general
education courses may not transfer in credit but will satisfy the relevant
SUNY general education categories.
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher is advised for admission consideration.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher is required for MCC graduation.

Transfer A.S. (EA03) will be the degree student is audited against and
awarded from MCC.
