Internships

CSTEP Scholars have access to research and internship opportunities. To learn more about these opportunities or to apply, schedule an appointment with Ms. Joseph-McEwen (djosephmcewen001@monroecc.edu) or with Mr. Curry (jcurry9@monroecc.edu).

There are benefits to participating in a research or internship experience, such as getting paid to conduct research over the summer, experience working with a scientist who will mentor you, broadening your network, having a competitive edge when applying to transfer, graduate school, or to a job position.

Most research experiences are paid during the summer. CSTEP also partners with many labs to secure spots for our students. Make sure to check your CSTEP emails and follow-through with the application process.

CSTEP scholars who conduct research or internship are able to apply to present their projects at MCC Scholars Day, at local poster symposiums, at the statewide CSTEP conference, and at national conferences, such as the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students.

Below are some research opportunities where CSTEP students have conducted research. Make sure to follow up with Ms. Joseph-McEwen or Mr. Curry.
