The 11-credit Ethical Hacking microcredential is designed to help prepare the student for entry-level job opportunities with a Security Operations Center (SOC) help desk or related IT security-related positions. Students who complete the Ethical Hacking microcredential have demonstrated the required skills for core security functions and explore the latest commercial-grade hacking tools, techniques, and methodologies used by information security professionals to test the security posture of an organization.

Completion of this microcredential results in preparation to take the CompTIA Security+ and Certified Ethical Hacking exams if desired. Transferable skills include complex problem solving, originality of ideas, and interdisciplinary thinking.

Requirements:

CPT 120 – Introduction to Cybersecurity (3 credits, grade of C or higher required)


CPT 220 – Applied Computer Security Concepts (3 credits)
Prerequisite: CPT 120 or permission of instructor

SCR 211 – Computer Security I (3 credits)
