The 13-credit Professional Communication microcredential is designed for those interested in improving the written and verbal skills necessary for personal and professional success. It will help prepare current professionals, prospective professionals, and college students for the unique communication dynamics of various 21st century work environments.

Appropriate for all disciplines, this microcredential can serve as a stand-alone accomplishment, or the 13 credits may be stacked towards earning an MCC associate degree, or applied for possible transfer credits to a four-year college/university.

Requirements:

CRC 125 – Microsoft Office (3 credits, grade of C or higher required)

ENG 250 – Professional Communication OR ENG 251 – Technical Communication (3 credits, grade of C or higher required)

SPC 142 – Public Speaking (3 credits, grade of C or higher required)

SPC 141 – Interpersonal Speech Communication OR SPC 143 – Small Group Communication (3 credits, grade of C or higher required)

NOTES:

· Basic computer skills are assumed.

· Applicants must place into ENG 200 or pass ENG 101(or its equivalent) with a C or higher before enrolling in ENG 250 or 251.
