This thirteen credit Microcredential was created specifically for students to gain the essential skills of an HVAC Technician but also adds the value of a work-based learning opportunity with HVA 271- a formal Paid CO-OP for all students in the Jumpstart program. There have been many letters of support from industry for MCC to implement this offering.

The overall design of this credential is to have students gain the critical skills needed to be effective in their career on day one of employment. This Microcredential gives students the lab practicum and theory behind skills in refrigeration, heating systems, mechanical systems as well as electrical systems.

Note: Students will have the opportunity to gain OSHA 10 and sit for the EPA 608 Universal Refrigeration License.
