DAS 100 - DART Preparation Forum

1 Credit

This course will guide the student upon acceptance and throughout their enrollment in the DART program. Students will work closely with the course instructor to complete learning objectives, plan for the program experiential preceptorship, and prepare for the capstone course. This course also addresses the NYS requirements for Dental Assisting licensure related to oral and written communication and basic behavioral concepts.

Course Learning Outcomes
1.Explain DART student responsibilities, preceptor responsibilities, national testing requirements, NYS licensure processes, and graduation processes.
2.Examine oral and written communication associated with dental professional practice.
3.Examine basic behavioral concepts associated with dental professional practice.
4.Describe the importance of understanding culture and diversity in dentistry.
5.Examine professional practice/membership in dentistry.
