THE 113 - Stage Makeup

The principles and practice of applying stage makeup as used in theatrical production.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Articulate how a makeup design contributes to character and theme of a theatrical production
2. Describe what constitutes an effective makeup design, and state the criteria used to make such judgments
3. Formulate a makeup design concept based on facial anatomy, skin tone, character and theme of play
4. Implement various methods for applying stage makeup according to a design schematic
5. Demonstrate through application various stage makeup designs including: corrective, aging, mimicry, historical, injury effects, animal and fantasy
