LDS 103 - Organizational Leadership

3 Credits

An introduction to the concepts, theories and ideas guiding leadership activities at work. This course will introduce a wide array of theories on topics relevant to understanding and controlling employee and managerial behavior, and provide insight and hands-on experience on how to use this knowledge to address leadership problems that you will face in organizations.

Prerequisite/Corequisite: LDS 101 OR LDS 102

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate the ability to find solutions to organizational issues and assess their own personal leadership styles and behaviors.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of organizational leadership philosophies through verbal and written critique of case studies.
3. Summarize organizational leadership principles through individual presentations indicating practical solutions to challenges.
4. Compare and contrast various aspects of leadership issues in group dynamics and, through a written research paper, discuss the prevalent challenges within organizations and their effects on leadership development.
