SBS 125 - Women's Issues: The Pursuit of Options

This seminar course is concerned with discussing and assessing the personal and social issues pertaining to women returning to education in today's world. Students will have an opportunity to explore and integrate the cognitive and affective aspects of adult development and relate them to their return to education.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Recognize and discuss the changing status, sensibilities, and goals of women.
2. Appraise his/her values and evaluate their effects on decisions.
3. Recognize the psycho-socialization process to which women have been exposed.
4. Defend the importance of power and self-efficacy for women.
5. Examine and strengthen his/her positive academic self-concept and increase his/her involvement in learning.
6. Construct personal educational goals and examine their relationship to adult development theories.
