LDS 204 - Leadership in the Local and Global Community

3 Credits

This course is intended to develop a greater awareness of and sensitivity to the importance of ethical components of managerial decision making. It is designed to provide students with conceptual tools and frameworks useful for analyzing business decisions, practices and policies in terms of their legal, ethical and public policy dimensions. This course will also prepare future leaders to meet their social obligations, function within organizational realities, and manage the complex interrelationships with other groups and institutions.

Prerequisites: LDS 101 and LDS 102

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Identify the fundamental principles of leadership observed during interview session with local emerging leaders.
2. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the principles of leadership,theories, philosophies and practical applications of leadership in a research paper or project.
3. Identify the historical leadership styles and demonstrate the ability to evaluate the necessity for integrity in the local and global community.
4. Discuss and apply leadership principles and theories in support of self-selected personal leadership style.
