FPT 204 - Fire Service Strategy and Tactics

3 Credits

This course provides the principles of fire ground control through utilization of personnel, equipment, and extinguishing agents. Fire suppression and control of small, large, and special incidents is covered.

Prerequisite: FPT 101.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Summarize the operation requirements of routine fire service responses.
2. Conduct an appropriate incident scene size-up.
3. Develop an appropriate incident action plan with alternatives to include the priorities of life safety, incident stabilization, property conservation, continuity of operations, and environmental impact.
4. Implement Incident Command System (ICS) components as required by a public safety incident.
