Physical and human geography of the United States and Canada with emphasis on the demographic, cultural, and economic aspects of individual regions. This course fulfills the MCC requirement for a social science elective. This is not a natural science.

Course Learning Outcomes
1. Differentiate among the major fields of Geography: Physical Geography, Human Geography, Regional Geography, and Geospatial Technology.
2. Locate major political units and physical features in the United States and Canada.
3. Classify the physical geography of the United States or Canada by climate, landforms, or biogeography.
4. Summarize the historic settlement patterns of the United States or Canada.
5. Compare and contrast the political geography of the United States and Canada.
6. Evaluate the population geography of the United States or Canada.
7. Describe the economic geography of the United States or Canada in terms of primary, secondary, tertiary, or quaternary sectors.
8. Delineate the functional or vernacular regions of the United States or Canada.
