GEO 116 - Special Topics in Geosciences
1-4 Credits
This course is designed to address specific topics of interest in the geosciences. Potential course offerings could include topics from geology, geography, and/or geospatial technology. Topics may change from semester to semester based on faculty and student interest. Can be lecture only format or lecture/lab combination and/or include field experiences depending on the content. Course may be repeated for up to 8 credits, but only if a different topic is covered. See Chemistry & Geosciences Department for approval.
Course Learning Outcomes
1.Analyze theories or concepts used in the geosciences that are relevant to topics addressed by this offering.
2.Utilize the scientific method as a predictive tool.
3.Evaluate the effects of human activity on the natural or cultural environment.
4.Compare and contrast case studies.
