TOY 210 - Electrified Powertrain Systems

3 Credits

This class focuses on electrified vehicle propulsion technologies including hybrid/electric and fuel cell.

Topics covered include Hybrid and Electric vehicle operation, low voltage components, high voltage components, safety precautions, supporting systems, maintenance and diagnosis.

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have the opportunity to earn Toyota Hybrid/Electric credentials.

Instructor Permission required and successful completion of TOY 192, TOY 203 (or equivalent; example Toyota 623 and 652).

Course Learning Outcomes
1.Identify Hybrid and Electric Vehicle systems and components.
2.Describe Hybrid and Electric Vehicle systems function.
3.Perform Hybrid and Electric Vehicle safety procedures.
4.Perform service on low voltage Hybrid and Electric vehicle systems.
5.Diagnose low voltage Hybrid and Electric vehicle systems.
6.Perform service on high voltage Hybrid and Electric vehicle systems.
7.Diagnose high voltage Hybrid and Electric vehicle systems.
8.Diagnose Hybrid Combustion Engine systems.
