Before you get started, here are a few tips:
Use VA Form 22-1990 to apply for benefits through the Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33), Montgomery GI Bill Active Duty (Chapter 30), or Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve (Chapter 1606) programs. Apply as early as possible to help ensure your benefits are processed and applied before the semester begins.

Receive a Certificate of Eligibility
Once the VA processes your claim, you will receive a Certificate of Eligibility in
the mail. Bring your Certificate of Eligibility and DD-214 to MCC’s Veteran Services Office. We’ll guide you through the next steps, including academic advisement, class registration, and the certification and verification process. If you received a denial letter from the VA and are unsure why, please contact the VA directly at 1-888-442-4551.
