The role of the Strategic Resource Development & Grant Management Office at Monroe Community College is to provide expertise and technical assistance to the College community to develop and sustain a solid College-wide financial foundation, in support of the college's mission and strategic goals.

External funding for MCC flows through the Grants office. The Grants office is the primary liaison with funding agencies and MCC authorized officers. The office is responsible for:

  • identifying and/or reviewing potential funding sources;
  • assisting faculty and staff with project development and budgeting;
  • writing assistance, internal approvals, and submission of application materials;
  • handling award documents and contract acquisition, and regulatory compliance;
  • monitoring project implementation, timelines, and evaluation; 
  • ·post-award grants management, reporting and closeout.

The Grants office coordinates the annual Internal Grants Competition, in which faculty and staff compete for funds outside of their regular operating budgets. The office also coordinates the annual Xerox STEM grants competition, for STEM-related projects.
