This course will provide an overview of the social, environmental, and economic aspects of sustainability. Students will consider the development of industrial society and examine key trends and events in the history of conservation and environmental reform in order to better understand current social, environmental, and economic problems. Students will evaluate the long-term sustainability of current systems and practices, and propose a solution to a current problem that balances economic, environmental, and social interests. 3 Credits. | |
| SUS 206 - Special Topics in Sustainability Seminar
An interdisciplinary seminar course concerned with current problems and innovations in sustainability. Possible course topics include water quality/availability, fossil fuels, food production/security, and community design. Students will read and discuss a variety of texts on the course topic, and will develop a substantial research project. 3 Credits. | |
