New and Updated Course Descriptions
PSY 101 - Introduction to Psychological Science
3 Credits
PSY101 is a challenging course that requires reading comprehension skills at a high school level. Students who are not ready for ENG101 reading/comprehension are likely to struggle in PSY101. The Psychology department has recently been made aware that students are being advised to enroll in PSY101 because "it is an easy course," when in fact data show that the course has low rates of C or better grades. In order to maximize student success, we think it is advisable to ensure that incoming students have proficiency in reading and comprehension.
