Background Investigations Course
Program Announcement
The Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility (PSTF) will be holding a Background Investigations Course at 1190 Scottsville Road, Rochester, NY. This course will cover the procedures necessary to conduct thorough background investigations for potential law enforcement candidates. Upon completion of the course, participants will possess the tools needed to complete a background investigation that will provide their employer with the ability to make sound candidate selections.
Students successfully completing this course will receive one-half (.5) credit from Monroe Community College.

Prerequisites
Sworn or civilian employment with a law enforcement or public safety agency

Graduation Requirements
- 90% attendance (policy set by Monroe Community College)
- 70% passing grade on written examination
Course Tuition and Fees
- Tuition: $102.00 (per person)
- Agencies will be billed directly
Note: Monroe Community College reserves the right to revise tuition and fees as necessary.

Please complete the online Law Enforcement Program Course Reservation Form prior to March 5, 2024. Submitting a reservation form does not guarantee admittance to a course. Confirmation notices will be emailed approximately 2 weeks prior to the class. Please remember to check your junk/spam folder.
To avoid double tuition billing, a Certificate of Residence is required from students who reside outside of Monroe County.
