Course in Police Supervision
Program Announcement
The Monroe County Public Safety Training Facility (PSTF), under the auspices of the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), will be holding the Municipal Police Training Council (MPTC) approved Course in Police Supervision at 1190 Scottsville Road, Rochester, NY. The course is designed to assist law enforcement officers make the transition to a first-line supervisory position. Through a series of lecture and practical exercises, students will learn to apply acquired skills to a wide range of realistic supervisory problems. The course prepares students to successfully meet the challenges of supervision and to realistically anticipate and plan for any situation.
Students who successfully complete this course will receive six (6) college credits from Monroe Community College.

October 13 through 31, 2025, 8:30am to 4:30pm
Prerequisites
- Full or part-time active duty NYS certified police, peace, or campus public safety officer;
- Completion of FEMA IS-200.C (certificate of completion must be provided)
Note:
- To comply with NYS Public Health Law section 2165, ALL STUDENTS who attend this course must have proof of immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella on file with Monroe Community College Health Services prior to registering for this course. Students honorably discharged from the military within 10 years from the date of beginning of the course may attend pending the receipt of immunization records from the armed services.
- Becoming a first-line supervisor of law enforcement officers, as defined in section 209-q (2) (b) of the General Municipal Law, requires successful completion of this course as approved by the Commissioner of the Division of Criminal Justice Services. This course provides 105 hours of training pursuant to Section 6021 of Title 9, Subtitle U of the Official Compilation of Codes, Rules and Regulations of the State of New York.
- Pursuant to NYCRR PART 6021.6(h): Only sworn police officers enrolled in this course are eligible for issuance of a DCJS certificate of completion. Sworn peace officers may attend this course but will not receive DCJS certification.

Course Tuition and Fees
- Tuition: $1,302.00 (per person)
- Estimated Student Fees: $196.50 (Student fees may vary each semester)
- Agencies will be billed directly
Please note: Monroe Community College reserves the right to revise tuition and fees as necessary.
Reservations
Please complete the online Law Enforcement Program Course Reservation Form prior to September 22, 2025. Reservations submitted after this date will be considered based on seating availability. Submitting a reservation form does not guarantee admittance to a course. Confirmation notices will be emailed to the individual who submits/approves the reservation request approximately two weeks prior to the class. Please remember to check your junk/spam folder.
To avoid double tuition billing, a Certificate of Residence is required from students who reside outside of Monroe County.
