Advanced Studies Certificates

Honors students can earn one of two certificates in addition to their chosen degree. To earn the Advanced Studies Certificate (ASC1) a student must complete 15 credit hours of Honors courses with at least a 3.5 GPA. Students can earn the Advanced Studies Certificate with Thesis (ASC2) with 16 credit hours of Honors courses, at least a 3.5 GPA, and public presentation of work completed under the guidance of a faculty member. Acceptable forms of work include research presentations, artistic performances or shows, literary works, engineering projects, or scientific experiments.

Obtaining either the ASC1 or ASC2 indicates that you seek academic challenges, engage in interdisciplinary study, and challenge yourself to become a thinker, visionary, researcher, and leader.

Honors students can complete either Advanced Studies Certificate while earning an MCC degree in their discipline. For questions about completing the certificate in conjunction with your degree, contact the Honors faculty advisor for your school or the Honors Coordinator.
