Advisement Keys/Alternate Pin
Advisement Keys/ Alternate Pin
The Advisement key (alternate pin) is a temporary registration requirement placed on some student accounts. It is used to ensure students meet with a success coach before registering for classes. These meetings are designed to help you:
- Confirm you major and/or pathway
- Discuss your educational and career goals
- Plan your courses for next semester
- Stay on track toward your academic goals
- Learn about campus resources that support your success
While all students should meet with their Success Coach to plan their course of study, students in the categories below must meet with a success coach to get an Advisement "key" (alternate pin) to unlock online registration access.
- Undeclared students (LIU1 pathway code)
- Pathways to College students (LA18 pathway code)
- SUNY ASAP program students
- Liberal Arts & Sciences students (pathway codes LAS1-LAS7 and LIB1, LIB2 and LIB3)
- Students with a GPA below 2.0
- Health professions program students (Clinical Lab Tech, Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene, Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Surgical Technology) – please see Academic Department.
