Microcredentials
Microcredentials, whether credit or non-credit, serve to verify, validate, and attest that specific skills and/or competencies have been achieved. They are a versatile curriculum vehicle that aligns requirements of employers for skills sets of focused relevance to industry needs. An MCC Microcredential verifies, validates, and attests that a student has achieved specific skills and/or competencies. It is endorsed by Monroe Community College and follows Microcredentials - SUNY.

Supplementary or additional Teacher Certifications: Individual Pathways
The microcredentials in this series are designed to support in-service New York State certified teachers who are seeking supplementary and/or additional teaching certification in a new subject area. Each microcredential covers a significant portion of the New York State learning standards and teaching competencies in its respective subject area.
Note: NYSED does not pre-approve any coursework for supplementary or additional teacher certifications. Teachers must submit their transcripts to NYSED directly to apply for these certifications. Prospective students are encouraged to reach out to the NYSED Office of Teaching Initiatives or their regional certification office for more information on certification pathways and the application process.
NYSED requires a grade of C or higher in subject area classes in order for them to count towards certification.
