Accommodation Letters
Students who are registered with the Disability Service Office will be able to access their accommodation letter for each semester they are enrolled in courses.
Accommodation Letters will be available electronically approximately 24 hours from the conclusion of an Intake or Reinstate appointment and/or approximately one week prior to the start of each semester, as long as the student is consecutively registered for courses. Accommodations will automatically renew each consecutive semester a student is enrolled for courses. If a student takes the fall or spring semester off, they are required to schedule an appointment upon return to reactivate accommodations. For future semesters, students are responsible for providing a copy of their updated Accommodation Letter(s) to all new instructors.
Communication is essential between the student and the faculty member. Students are expected to discuss the implementation of their approved accommodations with each faculty member with as much advance notice as possible (i.e. during office hours, before or after class, or schedule a meeting).
How to Access Accommodation Letters
- Login to MyMCC.

- Click the “Disability Services” tile.
- Click on the “Access Your Accommodation Letters" button.
Students are responsible for providing a copy of their Accommodation Letter to each instructor.
For future semesters, students are expected to access Accommodation Letter(s) following the steps listed above and responsible for providing their letters to all new instructors.
Email Templates
It is essential for students to inform their professors of their approved accommodations and to discuss the implementation of your accommodations. If you are emailing your professors, you may reference some of the email templates to inform your professors regarding your accommodations.
Template 1: Initial contact with the instructor
Email template to schedule an initial meeting with the professor to discuss the implementation of your accommodations.
Dear <INSERT PROFESSORS NAME>,
My name is <INSERT YOUR NAME> and I am a student in your <INSERT COURSE> and I have attached a copy of my Academic Accommodation Letter. I would like to set up a time to discuss how I will access my approved accommodations as a registered student with the Disability Services Office. Would you prefer I attend your office hours, or would a separate meeting be more appropriate, given the nature of our conversation?
I look forward to connecting with you and working together to facilitate these accommodations.
Thank you,
XXX
Template 2: Follow-up with instructor
Email template to the professor after your initial meeting if you have not received instructions on how your exam accommodations will be implemented.
Dear <INSERT PROFESSORS NAME>,
I am following up with you to finalize arrangements for my approved exam accommodations in your course. If it would be helpful for us to meet in person instead, I would be happy to do so. Please let me know which works best for you.
I hope to connect with you soon.
Thank you,
XXX
