Planned Giving
One of the most meaningful ways to support MCC is by creating your legacy through a gift in your will or Revocable Living Trust. It costs nothing today, but ensures that future generations of MCC students will have the support they need to succeed.
Those who make this lasting commitment are welcomed into the Alice Holloway Young Society, named for MCC founding trustee and past board chair Dr. Alice Holloway Young, who championed access to public higher education in our community.
To start your legacy today, MCC invites you to use FreeWill, a free online tool that guides you through the process of creating your will in just 20 minutes. It is free, no matter what, and can be used with an attorney to finalize your estate plans.

A Legacy of Learning and Giving Back

For Professor of Economics and Vice President Emerita Dr. Janet Glocker, few things are more rewarding than seeing personal and professional values align—a connection she found at Monroe Community College. Since joining MCC after moving to Rochester in 1975 with her husband, David, she’s learned from and enjoyed interactions with generations of students through roles ranging from Economics faculty member to Chair of Business Administration and Economics, Dean of Health, Science, and Business, and finally, Vice President of Academic Services.
“Helping students realize they can learn—and that they belong in college—has always been the most rewarding part of teaching and working at a community college,” she says.
Even in retirement, Dr. Glocker remains devoted to MCC’s mission. A loyal supporter of the MCC Foundation for 40 years and proud member of the Alice Holloway Young Planned Giving Society, her planned gift will one day establish the Presidential Scholarship for Academic Excellence, helping high-achieving students pursue their dreams.
“Giving back to MCC is my way of saying thank you—for the career, friendships, and purpose it gave me.”
When she’s not volunteering, she’s happily tending her historic home in Rush, NY and enjoying time with her three grandchildren—still learning, growing, and supporting others every day.
